Threads of yarn lie crossed on the linen of an embroidery hoop. Where two cross, one lies on the other.
Tap a thread with nothing lying across it: it lifts off, winds onto its spool and stitches its colour of the picture printed on the linen.
Some threads are woven together: one passes over the other in one place and under it in another. Use the scissors to cut a thread between two of its crossings, and both halves come free. Snips are few: cut in the right place.
Clear the hoop to finish the picture. Twenty pictures make a quilt.
