In a little observatory at dusk, the sky is built as hanging mobiles: bars on threads, with hooks along them, and smaller mobiles hanging from some hooks.
Hang every piece from the basket on the hooks: stars, crescent moons, comets, ringed planets and full moons. The pips on a piece show its weight.
Pull the cord to let go: every bar must settle level. Heavier near the thread, lighter far out; a lower mobile weighs everything it holds.
A bar that is off tips towards its heavy side, the further the more it is off. Steady the mobile and try again.
